Long ago, a poor fisherman lived by the sea with his family. He vowed to cast his net only four times a day, trusting in fate. 'Whatever the sea gives, I shall accept,' he whispered to the wind.

The fisherman's first three casts brought him only sorrow. Instead of fish, he found a donkey’s carcass, a jar of mud, and broken shards. 'Alas, another cast lost to junk!' he sighed heavily.

On his final cast, the net felt immensely heavy. He hauled it in to find a copper flask sealed with lead. 'This might be worth a few coins at the market,' he thought, his eyes widening.

He pried open the seal, and a thick plume of dark smoke billowed out. It rose so high it seemed to touch the clouds, darkening the entire beach. The fisherman stumbled back in shock.

The smoke condensed into a colossal genie with eyes like blazing torches. 'Oh, great Solomon, forgive me!' the giant boomed. His voice sounded like rolling thunder across the sea.

Learning Solomon was dead, the genie's tone turned cruel. 'I swore to kill whoever freed me,' he roared. 'I grant you only the choice of how you shall die!'

The fisherman used his wits. 'I accept my fate,' he said, 'but I cannot believe a giant like you fit inside that tiny flask. It seems impossible!' The genie scoffed at his doubt.

Provoked, the genie dissolved into smoke and spiraled back into the flask. In an instant, the fisherman seized the lead stopper and sealed it tight! 'Now you are trapped!' he cried.

The genie begged from inside the flask, promising riches. But the fisherman was resolute. 'You repay kindness with murder,' he said sternly. 'I will not be fooled again.'

With a mighty heave, the fisherman threw the flask far into the ocean. He walked home to his family, safe and sound. He had defeated a giant with nothing but his courage and wits.
