1.The Dancing Spider
Anansi is a tiny, tiny spider. He has eight wiggly legs that love to dance. Tick-tick-tick go his feet on the big green leaf. He is very happy today.
The sun is big and yellow in the sky. It feels like a warm, soft hug on his back. Anansi looks all around the garden. He wants to find a special place for a long, sleepy nap.
He climbs up a tall, tall flower. Zip-zip-zip! The flower is bright red and smells very sweet.
But the flower is too bouncy. Boing, boing! Anansi wiggles his tiny nose and tries to stay still, but he just keeps hopping.
He looks down at the soft, green grass. He sees a little dewdrop sitting on a clover. Drip, drop, glisten.
It is very pretty, but it is a little too wet and cold for a nap. Where can a tiny spider go to rest?
Anansi begins to spin a thread. Spin, spin, spin. It is a silver string, shiny and strong. He swings through the air like a little swing-set. Sway, sway, back and forth.
He finds his very own web hidden in the branches. It is shaped like a beautiful star.
The web is soft and very cozy. Anansi curls up his eight little legs one by one. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. The wind blows very softly through the trees. Whoosh, shhh.
The web rocks Anansi back and forth, back and forth. He is safe. He is warm. He is tucked in tight. Goodnight, tiny Anansi. Sleep tight in your silver star bed. The moon is coming out to watch over you. Shhh, shhh, shhh.
